Hydro Jetting- is a high water pressure system used to clean sewer lines. The water is shot out at approximately 1500 psi and up to 4000 psi for larger sewer lines or for stubborn build up. This is to maintain and prevent sewer drain blockages. It works great to remove obstructions, such as hair, soap build up, grease and other loose debris. This is not a recommended process to remove roots. So if you keep having the same clogging problem that doesn’t respond to chemical drain cleaners, hydro jetting is the solution for you.
Hydro Jetting does not replace the traditional plumber snake, since it’s only for preventing clogged sewer lines. Plumber snakes are still used to get clean up roots that have managed to grow into the lines but hydro jetting is recommended for grease build-up, since it melts away the grease. Snaking sewer lines that have grease build up will resolve the problem for the time being but it is not the most effective solution of dealing with this type of build-up. For a grease build-up, hydro jetting prevents the problem from re-occurring.
